Importance of Scaling Influencer Marketing in Enterprises
Martech Outlook | Friday, December 02, 2022
Enterprises may see better results from beginning influencer marketing efforts on a smaller scale, getting to know a select group of influencers and their audiences, and then expanding to more extensive campaigns, including well-known influencers.
FREMONT, CA: Influencer marketing is used by enterprises of all sizes, from startups and even occasional solopreneurs to multinational conglomerates. It works the same regardless of the size. If they work in a business, they know that things are done differently, partly because of more resources and more stakeholders with different needs and a need for more defined systems and processes. Spending more money on influencers is one of many ways to scale up influencer marketing. Even if the company is ten times the size of the main competition, it should spend less than ten times as much on influencer marketing as them.
Effective for the intended audience: Just because enterprises have the resources to pay the higher rates charged by some of the more well-known macro- and mega-influencers doesn't mean they should ignore the micro-influencers who make up the backbone of influencer marketing. Instead, they should consider which influencers might be most effective with the intended audience. And if that means deploying a swarm of microscopic, nanoscale influencers, then you'll need to devise some solid procedures to deal with the management that'll inevitably ensue.

Marketing by hiring celebrities or public figures: Those with vast marketing pockets can pick any celebrity or public figure they like to promote their company. They should use well-known celebrities and personalities to represent the business in digital media. Customers are scrolling through their Instagram accounts, watching viral TikTok videos, and reading articles about their favorite topics, and they're simply another huge brand to them. They probably have an idea of who they are and what they think of the product already. Even if a well-known athlete, model, or actor recommends their product to their fans on social media, that doesn't mean those fans will immediately go out and buy it.
Better content to attract customers: In influencer marketing, the goal is to get people to follow the advice of well-known social media users by sharing the content they create themselves or paying attention to the products they promote. They might wonder what gives them the right to designate someone who gets millions of views for fart videos on TikTok as an influencer. They can affect a specific audience by drawing them in repeatedly with these kinds of films. Also, they could be the perfect influencer to promote the product if their readership overlaps with the ideal customer.
Expanding and ensuring market growth: Investing towards the bottom of that range and increasing it as enterprises see results is generally a good guide of the dollars to allocate to influencer marketing. It's only sometimes the ideal strategy to launch high-profile influencer campaigns with hundreds of influencers to rapidly expand an existing influencer marketing program.
