This challenge is just one example of the larger problem that Gathr is trying to solve: matching Talent with its audiences. Gathr is a multifaceted Talent Booking, event management, and ticketing platform that understands how to bring talent, event organizers, venues, and audiences together on a single platform for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.

Gathr helps storytellers of all stripes, from athletes and CEOs to subject matter experts, authors, and actors, create exceptional experiences, connect with and learn about their target audiences, convey a meaningful message, and monetize their passion.
One way to think about Gathr is as an ‘Airbnb’ for booking talent. The first tech-enabled talent booking platform, it allows individuals to self-manage every aspect of their In-Real-Life (IRL), virtual, or hybrid events while giving them full control over their relationship with their audiences.
In the virtual event market, enterprise software is expensive and only accessible to large enterprises with the budget to acquire corporate conference-level technology. Gathr offers a cost-effective and affordable solution where a user can pay per event based on platform usage, which is especially significant for independent talent with limited resources.
Unlike conventional online subscription models, Gathr facilitates free sign-ups and the creation of paid or unpaid events, booking widgets, magic links, and affiliate tracking. Gathr earns revenue from charging consumer-facing ticket service fees, or the host for platform usage fees for free events, and commissions on third-party talent bookings (like a talent agency) – all in success as costs of goods sold; nothing paid in advance or by subscription.
These features are particularly effective for NGOs on a social mission with limited resources. Gathr’s feature-rich software helps them overcome fundraising hurdles with its charity and donation functions, a database of almost 3 million charities, and integrated Kickstarter, GoFundMe, Indiegogo, and Every.
Gathr’s benefits extend to numerous talent markets. Authors and book publishers can sell books during an online or offline book release event instead of spending a fortune to travel to different independent bookstores for better sales. Gathr brings the hectic offline book release process onto an online platform for audiences to pre-order the book presented in an ongoing event. For publishers, Gathr takes on the role of speaker’s bureau to help manage booking requests. Gathr also assists independent authors by handling their booking fee negotiations. Essentially, Gathr acts as a personal account agent that negotiates costs without acquiring their personal information, which may be a sensitive aspect for some authors.
"Many talent representation agencies have websites full of tedious contact forms and email processes. We offer innovative technology that streamlines the management of talent recruitment, event creation, and ticketing," explains Scott Glosserman, founder and CEO of Gathr.

Glosserman believes in constantly improving Gathr’s technology to keep up with the organic demand of the evolving Passion Economy. Especially during the pandemic, he realized the need for Talent across multiple industries was changing. Although Gathr started in the filmmaking space, the company quickly realized its value proposition applied to all event types. Thus, began Gathr's pivot from the $12 billion domestic theatrical market to the $1.5 trillion global events market.

In 2023, Gathr announced its first third-party ticketing exchange partnerships for creating and sharing events. They now have established partnerships with SI Tickets, Kickstarter, and Filmrise that enable them to provide unique experiences and opportunities to their users. SI Tickets, Sports Illustrated’s fan-first ticketing marketplace, has over 40 million subscribers. Gathr has partnered with SI Tickets to enable access to this ticketing exchange to sell tickets, which are also NFTs that will pay dividends on secondary and tertiary resale markets. Kickstarter uses Gathr to host curated virtual short film presentations with live post-screening filmmaker discussions for its elite film supporters. FilmRise, the largest independent provider of digital streaming content, sub-distributes documentary films through Gathr to leverage its crowdfunding technology, drive donations, and measure impact.
In addition, Gathr aims to find NFT applications to integrate with its ticketing feature and monetize secondary and tertiary ticket sales. Through NFT minting and blockchain, it plans to develop a technology that contracts a kickback for the original ticket issuers and provides the ability to create tickets, including NFTs.
